Before aligning his services with Encompass Healthcare Data Solutions, Barry Denny was Founder and President of a successful expense management consulting firm.
A five-year Navy veteran, Barry was presented the prestigious Navy Achievement Medal by the Secretary of the Navy while working as a Hospital Corpsman in the Emergency Department at Portsmouth Naval Hospital in Portsmouth, Virginia. This medal was given for superior services performed as Materials Manager during an Emergency Department renovation.
During his Naval career, Barry became credentialed as an EMT, X-Ray Technician and Flight Deck Corpsman. He was recognized as “Sailor of the Day” at every duty station that he served.
After leaving the Navy, he took advantage of the GI bill to attend surgical tech school. He became the first student ever to be allowed as a First Assist on an open-heart surgery. He then proceeded to become credentialed as both a Certified Surgical First Assistant and Orthopedic Physician’s Assistant. Barry continued his educational pursuits at the University of Louisville’s esteemed microsurgery training center. Barry assisted his mentor and dear friend, Dr. Louie Patseavouras (Dr. Pat) on thousands of surgical procedures over a 20-year period.
His unique medical background and extensive medical purchasing experience affords him the skills to identify creative and innovative ways to reduce medical facility expenses. Barry’s skills and background make it easy to see how he has maintained a 100% success rate of delivering tangible savings to his healthcare facility clients for decades. Barry’s modus operandi is to always achieve the best for clients while maintaining an ethical and integrity level that is second to none.
Barry does not lose sight of people as he improves processes. He has a gifted manner of negotiating, encouraging others, increasing morale, and leading others to work from their strengths. He is actively involved in his local church ministry. He has led several Crown Financial Ministries’ “Business by the Book,” small group studies for both corporations and individuals. Additionally, Barry serves the community by volunteering his time to serve on the Executive Board of the Winston-Salem Rescue Mission.
